Nags
“Harness” by FXR and “Nags” by Sophie von Maltzan (as an add- on to her current exhibition in the ArtTunnel: “ Sheds” is on display from Wednesday the 3rd of October 2012.
The 2 installations encourage the public to form an opinion on the Horse Fair in Smithfield.
“Harness” shows a series of detailed photos of Horses at the Fair printed on Aluminium while as “Nags” are a series of life- size cut- outs of Horses and Owners.
One cut- out will be attached to the Art Tunnel perimeter fence, allowing passer- bye’s to mark their opinion onto it. So please come and do so- it is pretty big.
The proposed bylaws that would see the controversial monthly market restricted to running just two days a year can be made until November 29th. If horses are brought to the market on any other days, they could be seized and destroyed.
The Draft Bye-Laws may be viewed on www.dublincity.ie or at the offices or Dublin City Council, Culture Recreation & Amenity Department, Block 4, Floor 0, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday for a period from 20th September – 15thNovember 2012 inclusive.
Dublin City Council will consider any submissions in relation to the Draft Smithfield Horse Fair Control and Fee Bye-Laws 2012 which are submitted in writing to the Smithfield HorseFair Control and Fee Bye-Laws 2012, Dublin City Council, Culture Recreation & Amenity Department, Block 4, Floor 0, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 or by email tocasualtrading@dublincity.ie before 5.00 p.m. on Thursday 29th November 2012.
